From a promise Mimi made to her father, Claude M. Steiner PHD, to keep his Original Warm Fuzzy Tale alive, to innovative philanthropic work aimed at street level homelessness solutions, to a micro concierge consultative practice (coming soon!). It’s all Here!
The Safe Haven Clinic Institute (SHCI) is a not -for-profit (501c3) organization supported by the Doohan Family Medicine Consultants. SHCI is a learning organization and think tank working toward designing innovations to end homelessness and addiction. The Safe Haven Clinic model, developed by SHCI using human centered design methodologies, is an utopian design within reach for providing innovative and effective street level clinical care for homeless populations.
The Safe Haven Clinic Collective is where the SHCI connected not-for-profit operations happen. We focus on environmental health, reentry from incarceration, elders, and youth. Our first project, launched in 2024, is a film-student made short documentary called “The Hill” about the largest Homeless Encampment in Santa Barbara CA and its “resolution” and transition into a “tiny house” village nearby.
